Swallow

Katerina was a featured extra in Swallow, a 2019 psychological thriller film written and directed by Carlo Mirabella-Davis, in his directorial debut. Starring Haley Bennett, Austin Stowell, Elizabeth Marvel, David Rasche, and Denis O'Hare, the plot follows a young woman who, emotionally stifled in her marriage and domestic life, develops an impulse to consume inedible objects.

Spanakopita

 

Katerina stars as Angelina in the short Spanakopita; a film that centers around an overbearing Greek family, the Papagianis. An argument occurs in their family-owned diner when teenage daughter, Angelica, decides to eat at their long-time rivals' restaurant. The family fights back, but not without Angelica's push against them. This short film explores the culture and comedic dynamics of an overbearing Greek family.

 

Nadya’s Sleepover, Invite Only

 

Nadya’s Sleepover, Invite Only, is a dark comedy that tells the story of a group of preteen friends--who turn a seemingly routine slumber party into a clandestine fight club. This is a film about kids learning to redefine their relationships with their bodies, navigating gendered expectations, and realizing the lengths true friends will go to for each other. Katerina, as Nadya, developed on-camera fighting techniques in this 2020 short film.

Katerina’s film debut was in 2017. OUT follows Samantha, a gay Italian woman who comes from a traditional Italian family. Katerina had the honor of playing Young Samantha in flashback scenes.

 

Short

 

Katerina was cast as the role of Emerson, Conners’ girlfriend in short film Short. This film centers around a reserved, middle school relationship. A preteen boy, who is shorter than his girlfriend, is peer pressured to kiss her on their one month anniversary. This film explores the different stages of growing up, young love and learning how to define relationships.
